Being that I am a first-time boat owner, Neal and Eddie went above and beyond to explain everything they were going to do and did for annual pre-season maintenance. That goes a long way in my book as they were extremely patient with some of my basic questions that others may not have. I will see them again next season/end of season for next round!
Eddie and Neal are Phenomenal and they are priced reasonably. They will make sure everything is done correctly and thoroughly. There did a lot on our boat. Thank you Gentlemen for taking care of Slow M'Ocean!
I recently had to take my boat for repair and wanted a good trustworthy place. After hours of searching and reading reviews and calling around I ran across A&E Marine repair. There reviews seemed the best to me so I called and spoke to Eddie. After explaining to him the issues I was experiencing, he was able to tell me what he thought it was but wanted me to bring it in for a diagnostics test to verify which I completely understand. After taking my boat to him I also asked him to go over everything and find anything that was unsafe and let me know. He found several fire hazards and was able to correct them. When I brought my boat to him my jack plate wasn't working and he was able to take it completely apart and fixed it saving me around $930 apposed to having to buy a new one. His prices were very reasonable and he was able to get my boat repaired in a very reasonable time. My overall experience was absolutely good. Eddie was very knowledgeable and took the time to show me around his shop and made me feel like I was family. I would absolutely recommend A&E Marine Repair for your boating needs. I will definitely use them for anything else that may come up in the future. Also I really liked how he sends photos and videos of the progress of work.
We went to A&E Marine to have a steering wheel mounted on my husband’s Jon boat. Not only were they extremely professional, but their attention to detail and perfection shines through. First class work and we couldn’t be more pleased.
Service and professionalism is second to none. The owner Eddie treats his customers equally. I almost backed out after seeing expensive and big boats in the shop. But he was ecstatic all the same seeing my small boat on 2 stroke Merc. Very knowledgeable and advised me the lowest cost repair. And indeed my old 2 stroke engine ran like new to the point I have to open to check the oil level since there was barely any smoke. Amazing on what they have done!
These people are great! Went over there with my old inoperable diesel push/pull stop cable and asked if there was anything they thought they could do with it before I went and bought a new one. They said hang on a minute and went back into the shop and cut me a new end connection. Works great! Asked how much I owe them and they said "no charge". They never saw me before but extended such courtesy. They made a friend!

Wow! Eddie Rocks!! This guy really knows his stuff. I called him after getting the run around from another Marine Mechanic here in the Clear Lake area who couldn't figure out why my Universal M25 was running hot.
I called A & E on Monday morning and spoke to Eddie. I asked about his first available slot to come dockside and check it out. He told me a week if it was something major but he'd stop by check it out and if it was something simple he'd fix it sooner. (I was being told by other Marine Mechanic shops 2 weeks just to come out and some 3 weeks was their next available time slot.... some shops don't even answer the phone or return calls)
He came by with a helper Monday afternoon. It didn't take him long to figure out what was wrong. Told me he needed to pull some parts and take them back to the shop. This week it's been raining hard everyday. He updated me by text every day. He made it back to my boat midday Thursday. It's now Thursday late afternoon my boat is ready to go! I'm super pleased with the service.

I just want to say Eddie and A & E Marine really came through for me and kept their word on repairing my boat. There was a situation that came up with my boat after I picked it up from their shop. Eddie and his crew drove 4 hours, all the way to where my boat was, in the slip and got it running again. These guys have many years of experience and they diagnosed the problem within one hour of looking at it. Thanks again!
These folks are great! Eddie (Owner) treats you like a friend. Just had two difficult engine repairs completed by A&E. Prior to A&E I learned (again) "you get what you pay for". I am not easily pleased. However, I recommend them to all I know and meet that need boat repairs!

Fantastic job rebuilding my starboard engine. Could not be happier. Eddie is a hands on owner and is involved in every aspect of his company. He is the last of a very rare breed that can actually Mechanic instead of parts replace. I wholeheartedly recommend this company for any engine work you may need. He kept me informed during the entire process and is competitive in price. Look no where else.

Had an issue with my tilt/trim. Back to Eddie! Folks, not only did he literally drop what he was doing to help me, he did it for FREE. That's what I said! He took the part out of my hand, replaced the damaged O ring with one even stronger and handed back to me in less than 5 minutes. But here is the part that sets his integrity and willingness to the top; He adjusted his personal spanner tool and handed it to me to take home and finish the job myself! Who loans a $150 tool to a customer so he can DIY something he could have made a couple hours labor with?
Will not use anyone else for my boat repair issues. Plus... he is just a funny guy to visit with! I feel I have moved from Customer to Friend with this guy!
Eddie & his team did a fantastic job getting my 2000 Regal back up and running great! I had the mechanic where I bought the boat work on the carbs 3 separate times and it was still dying in idle. Eddie fixed the issue and sent photos and videos along the way including when he tested it at the dock. I highly recommend A & E and I’m so glad to have a mechanic close by that did a great job at a reasonable price. Thanks!

I worked 6 weeks with another repair company, who could not diagnose the problem and were proposing tearing down the engine to find the problem. A&E Marine came to my dock 2 days after I called, immediately found the problem and had me back on the water that day. Great job A&E.

2 words to describe Eddie and his crew - Above & Beyond! Eddie is upfront and honest, he doesn't just throw parts at your boat. Very knowledgeable and knows what it takes to get you back on the water with some gas money in your pocket. My favorite experience was the pictures and updates while working on my baby and how clean it was when I picked it up! Thanks again Eddie and crew!!!!
First time to use A&E Marine repair, but sure glad I did. Very professional service, Great communications (actually send photo’s as they did service work), and quick to get the work done. After they were done it looked like a new engine, incredible... First Class Operations that went beyond my expectations. Thanks again.
Eddie is the most honest and trustworthy person in the business. I’m new to boating and most people would take advantage of women who doesn’t have a lot of knowledge with engines. He helped me figure out a solution that didn’t cost a million dollars like everyone else and he left my engine area cleaner than it was when he got on the boat. Thanks For everything Eddie! I will never use anyone else.
